The GU68 Engineers Trust are looking for two new Trustees or Associate Trustees, who need not be graduates of the University of Glasgow. However, it would be desirable for them to have a connection with the School of Engineering, either as graduates, students or staff, or in some other way. We are particularly keen to recruit trustees who graduated as mechanical engineers, as they are currently under-represented. We would specially welcome female applicants as for so many years Engineering has not attracted them as a career.
Trustees would be expected to attend two meetings a year where the awards are considered, either in person or remotely, and a few more informal meetings with students and staff, but they need not be based in the Glasgow area.
The GU68 Engineers Trust, a Scottish Registered Charity, was formed by the 1968 Engineering graduates from the University of Glasgow in 2004 with the purpose of advancing education, in particular the study of engineering at the University of Glasgow, by the provision of bursaries for students and sponsorship of final year projects.
The posts are voluntary and the Trustees bear their own expenses.
